Weightless

This painting began while I was experimenting with colours for a commissioned work. The soft pink was unusual for me, while the earthy tones and muted blues are very much part of my usual palette. I also worked extensively with a pheasant feather, using its tip to create the loose, vibrant lines that move across the surface. What began as an experiment became a painting I grew unexpectedly attached to. I love its lightness and sense of calm — qualities that, together with its horizontal format, make it particularly suited to a bedroom or another quiet space.
