This abstract painting developed intuitively through layers of warm earth tones, pale surfaces and expressive black lines. I worked without a fixed plan, allowing the shapes and traces to evolve until I found the sense of balance and quietness I was looking for.
The title Falling Inward grew from the feeling the painting gave me – a sense of turning inward and withdrawing slightly from the world around us. To me, the work holds both strength and vulnerability, but as with much of my abstract art, I prefer to leave the story open so that each viewer can experience and interpret it in their own way.
